yes Usha , we need to speak up to be heard and we need to learn to understand the unspoken words in the silences . These are essential skills anyone should be taught , girl or boy  , no matter .

Simmi , an intelligent person will learn to live and have fun anywhere , life is a struggle if we see it to be one , running away will not get anyone anywhere.

No she will have to change her attitude and learn to live her life , maybe , perhaps , what ever . And learn to communicate better with her family and learn to use one word in particular :
'NO " , who was it who said:
"Diplomacy is the art of saying no like we have said yes !" , is that rightly quoted ? i wonder , but that is what that quote had said and I want her to learn , what do you say , we educate her to live her life ? huh Simmi babe ?

Shobs , when she did not guess , who is to be blamed ? But yes , the situation is not something that could not have been avoided , could have been averted had th family shown more empathy and had Ammu not been such a martyr .
Shobs , yes a slow smouldering  here too , ........thnak you for the sharing how you feel .

low making indeed anj -bebe ! :((
this too has passed for so many , maybe not so dramatic , but "this too shall pass ", is how the Indian woman seems to live her life , with her family !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope ammu gets well soon.. i do feel angry at everyone in the family..but i can't help feeling angry at ammu too.. why on earth did she keep it to herself? sometimes you have to speak up to be heard!

That is very sad but typical...I would've thought that Meenakshi being her aunt it might be different but guess I was wrong...All mothers-in-law want nothing more than to work their daughters-in-law to death. Why does a woman have to keep working unless and until pregnant? And Jaya...typical Indian male...for all his professions of love and all...still he did not take care of his wife. I have come to think that the worst thing that could happen to a woman is to marry an Indian guy...

Hope Ammu gets well soon. I think she needs to go back home and never come back...

Just typical that margu while criticisng her in-laws does not suggest they too should have a cook. I feel jayaneeds to get his head examined. i am not low - just a slow burn Anna
