The rogue
Cruel myopic gaze ,
a half dead stare
eyes that seem vacant ,
as if hardly there.
So large an animal ,
swirling his trunk around
gripping an ill-fated child
smashing him to ground,
like a coconut , broken
tattered , as his limbs he tore
trampled on the dead body
bloodied the clothes he wore
II
The hunter’s eye , keen
Assessed the rampage
“A rogue bull for sure
may be any age “
“Why Sahib , does he ?”
the villagers asked
he had no answer
tried to , but he paused .
A tusker , a bull ,
alone and vengeful .
He was scared to meet
the rogue , the invincible .
III
They walked a cirlcle
shouting , beating drums
the rogue went hiding
scared and confused for once .
The hunter now gathered
all his stored courage
prepared to meet
a mad elephant’s rage
Gray shattered silence
through shades of green
a loud trumpeting
the maniac was seen!
IV
A massive tusker
too large ,much too close
such a fearsome sight
the hunter just froze.
Hearing it trumpet
he began to run
sprinting down the hill
into setting sun .
The rogue followed down
slower than he could
careful not to slip,
crumbling brittle wood .
V
A trundling gray cloud
fury goading him
red soil spewing rage
sunlight growing dim .
The hunter climbed high
took time but aimed well
not a sound escaped
as the beast fell .
Parched earth soaked blood
the dead were thirsty
the hunter walked back
tired and weary .
VI
He was a hero
was feted and paid
ate ,drank, went home
and raped up the maid !
